Why did you decided to participate in the program? "I decided to participate in the program because during my undergraduate studies I developed a passion for conducting research. In order to pursue research as a full-time career, I discovered that I would need a PhD in my field. The 4+1 Program gave me an opportunity to work towards my graduate degree while completing my BS."

What do you hope to accomplish as a participant of the program? "Of course the main goal is to complete my graduate degree, but I would also like to serve as an example of what is possible after completing a Bachelors. As a Freshman during my undergraduate studies, I had no idea that I could continue after my four years. Learning about this possibility as a Sophomore still sounded like an illusion. I would love for my story to help show how realistic this opportunity is."
